Can you imagine what a service you could provide for the working family by making their kids save? Being a babysitter could be a perfect way for you to make a living as a stay at home person. You'll need to have all of the local authority, training and PATIENCE that are necessary to watch kids.
If you love working with kids and enjoy teaching then you could do this also. If a working family is going to drop their most prized possession, which are their kids, off somewhere then have to know the kids are safe, well fed and taken care of by someone who will treat them well.
There are some local laws and requirements that you will adhere to before you are going to watch other people's children. If you get the requirements taken care before advertising your services then you will have a much better chance at getting a jog. You will also be able to charge what the market will allow. You won't be able to charge way over the other local people because the parents will find someone else with similar qualifications at a lower price.
You will be able to provide them with your brand of service, but they are the decision makers and they will decide where the best safety for their children and the best service.
You will have to figure out what types of services that intend to provide to the children. Whether or not you are willing to do what the parents want you to do or if you can even provide the services that they want. You need to make policies for late pickups or early drop offs. Check around to see what others are doing in your area to make sure you can compete with them.
Advertise the business by giving out your business card and make flyers and post them where they are allowed to be posted. Your local magazine that provides local activities and services is another way to advertise cheaply and get the word out to as many customers as possible.
After you get the children into your babysitting business you just need to provide them with the very best care that you can and then you probably won't need to do much more advertising. Word of mouth advertising is priceless in a babysitting job. It can give you so many new jobs that you'll have to turn some people away.
Well that can work both ways though. If you treat a child badly then that word is going to get out even faster than what any good news would ever get around. All you have to do is provide excellent service treat the kids nicely and discipline them without beating them and keep them safe and you shouldn't have any problems. You may have trouble with some kids or parents and that is when you will have to develop your customer skills to the next level.
You are providing them a service and if you can't meet eye to eye on how to do what they want then end the relationship as best as you can. Remember bad news travels faster than good news. Customer service at all times.
